Idea 2 (14)

Image
Alternate idea  The narrative for the music video would be a single father and his teenage daughter have gone out one afternoon to the beach in autumn. When they return home though the daughter decides to go out for a walk but she doesn't return that night. The next morning the police come by and inform the father how his daughter had died after being hit by a car which causes the father to go into a depressive spiral. That night he decides to go into his daughters room for the first time since he found out she was dead. As he enters we see him looking at his daughters possession, all the things she will never use, never touch again. While looking around the room he moves towards the bed and looks at all the photos that she has hanging on her wall. Pictures of his daughter with friends and pictures of his daughter with himself. As he looks through them you see flash backs to memories (Memories of them going to Thetford forest, walking the dog, playing with the rabbits, watchi

My plan (14)

What is your idea for coursework at the moment? Song: Nightmares by All Time Low  Idea: A young man goes into a abandoned house after being dared to spend the night there by his mates. He is walking around the house when he hears a noise and we see him running away in fear. As he turns the corner he (through editing and cutting away) transitions into a young boy (10 - 12 years old). We see him exploring the house and hiding every time he hears a noise/sees something and acting like a frightened child. He is then seen running into the drawing room when he sees a teenage girl dressed in white in the centre of the room (A ghost in a white dress wearing ballet shoes). She stretches out her hand to the boy who tentatively takes it. She makes the boy realise that the house isn't that scary anymore and again (through editing and cutting away) we see him turn back into his adult self. When the song is coming to the end we see him head to the door and right before he leaves

Music video or short film? (13)

Which are you doing and why? For my A2 coursework I plan to create a music video rather than create a short film. After looking at the advantages and disadvantages of both I have decided that it will be easier to create a music video rather then create a short film.   Music video Advantages of a music video: -The length of the video wont be too long as songs are typically between three and five minuets. -I wont have to worry about sound and dialogue as the song I choose will be the main aspect of the video and the only sound coming from it. -It will be quite easy to come up with a story line to fit the song as I will be able to use the lyrics and the meaning behind them to form a plot for the music video.  Disadvantages of a music video:  -Restricted to the length of the song  -You have to make the plot clear as their wont be any dialogue to explain to the viewer what is going on. -If you include lip syncing then you will need to make sure that it fits in time with the s

My practice task evaluation (12)

Music video storyline The story behind my music video is a young man is seen unconscious laying on the forest floor when his phone begins to ring. For the duration of the video you see him in a dream state hanging out with his friends and generally having a good time. As the video progresses you begin to see that things weren't perfect with the friends and that they ended up fighting a lot. Towards the end of the video you see how the boy was out for a walk when he tripped and fell down a slope. As he starts to regain consciousness he begins to only think about the good times he had with his friends and how he will never forget the good times he had with them. At the very end you see the boy regaining consciousness and begin to answer the phone. I wanted the music video to show how although the boy lost his friends, he still has the memories of the times he spent with them, and he'll never forget all the amazing things he did with them.  How did it go? Overall I felt that

My practice task final cut (11)

The video above is my rough cut for my practice task. It has the footage in the right order with minimal editing and no titles. Originally this was my final cut, however I wasn't fully satisfied with how the video looked so I went about making changes and editing it some more until I created something I was more proud of. Below is my official final cut for my practice task. With this one I decided to change about some footage and add new effects like reverse to the footage. Overall I am more proud of this cut than I was with the first one I had created. ~ Kat

What's in the news? (10)

News story - Gay marriage legalised in Germany. This is the news story I decided to pick to plan a music video around. I chose it due to it being one of the more positive stories I came across when searching for one. I also felt the story opened endless possibilities for a music video all depending on what song was chosen, for example a song like Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson could offer an optimistic music video. Flash backs of an individuals past could be shown of how they tried to fit in and conceal their sexuality from the world. As the song would progress you could see that individual becoming more confident and showing the world who they really were. As you reach the end of the song, the individual would be seen standing at the end of the isle waiting for their partner to walk down it.   A Thousand Years song  A Thousand Years lyrics  Heart beats fast Colours and promises How to be brave? How can I love when I'm afraid to fall? But watching you stand alon
