Our practise task - planning (4)

Potential settings

Cromer beach

Keswick Mill/Eaton marshes

Earlham Park

UEA woods

Apart from the UEA woods all of the above locations have water which is another important aspect of the nursery rhyme which I wanted to incorporate into the music video. In the initial nursery rhyme 'Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water' because of this line I felt that it was important to include water in the music video as it was essentially the cause of Jack hurting his head in the first place. I plan to use most of these locations in the music video to help build up more of a story for the video and apart from Cromer most of them are close to where i live so it'll be easy to access them and film in the locations.
Potential cast and characters

Jack - This will be the main character for the video and will also be the character that bumps their head which causes them to hallucinate memories from the past. To relate this video to the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill I decided to name the main character after the main character in the rhyme. I also decided to have them bump their head like Jack does in the nursery rhyme so their is a strong connection with the nursery rhyme in the music video. For this character I will need a boy roughly the age of seventeen or eighteen to play the character. Possible people how could play this role include my friend Dan and also my friend Alex. Both these boys are around the appropriate age range and i feel both would be able to portray the character of Jack well.

Two/Three friends - These will be the friends that the main character dreams/hallucinates about when he hits his head. For these characters I will need two/three females around the age of seventeen or eighteen so they are similar ages to the protagonist. I will probably get Emily, Lucy and Chloe to play these characters do to them all being around the age of seventeen and eighteen. Each of these people have had experience in front of a camera and because I know them personally it'll make it easier to arrange filming and work with them.

potential costumes and props

Jack's costumes - For the video the characters will have a few different costumes depending on the setting. At the beach the character Jack will be in summer clothes, so a short sleeve top and shorts. At the Mill he will be in a top, shorts and a hoodie. Earlham park and the woods he will be in shorts, boots, shirt and have a rucksack. The cloths will be quite simple and casual as well as being summery.
Two/Three friends - Again their costumes will depend on what location they are at but will hold the theme of summer to them. At the beach swimming costumes, shorts and vests will be worn. At the Mill, shorts, shirts/dresses and jackets. At Earlham park and the woods, Shorts/skirts, boots, shirts and rucksacks. Additional props include phones, sunglasses and hats.
potential split between 'story' and 'performance'

In the video I have decided to use only story and not include any performance. I feel that by adding performance, it'll break apart the story too much and I want the main focus to be on the story rather than on the singer. The story will also change quite a lot and be fairly fast paced and I think it will be hard to find gaps to place footage of a performer into the video.
