Independent study into an existing short film or music video director (21)

My documentary video about David Wilson Planning and research for my documentary about David Wilson David Wilson is a London based director and animator. He is most well known for his music videos, having created videos for artists like David Guatta, the Arctic Monkeys and The Maccabees.  He takes enjoyment from crossing disciplines between animation and live action, often combining the two to create something unique.  Wilson studied illustration at Brighton University which has helped him in his career of becoming a unique music video director. He studied illustration as apposed to film as he never believed that becoming a film director was possible. As accessibility to cameras and youtube came about however, Wilson started to upload his videos to youtube and they started to gain recognition.  This is a video I found about David Wilson and his career. This helped me find out more about the director and his style with videos. Examples of Wilsons work

Original song and music video Our creation of the song in the style of Wes Anderson The task we were given was to create a one minute music video from the list of songs we were given. We had to create this in either one take or in the style of Wes Anderson. For my groups task we decided to go in the style of Wes Anderson and we created our music video using the song Grace Kelly by MIKA.  Wes Anderson Wes Anderson is a film director, producer, screen writer and actor who is known for his distinctive visual and narrative style. He has been noted for his distinctive style of film making through his obsession with symmetrical composition. He is also known for his extensive use of flat space camera moves, slow-motion walking shots and deliberate limited colour palette. In our one-minute music video we tried to recreate the focus on central subjects like Wes Anderson does. A ll of the shot include the actor placed right in the middle of the frame.  We
